DAMIAN E. LACROIX is a founding partner of Cain &
LaCroix, P.C.
Mr. LaCroix's practice focuses on the handling of business
matters and business litigation.
Mr. LaCroix has significant experience with pretrial and
trial litigation in state and federal courts. In 2002,
Mr. LaCroix and his former partner, John K. Buche, successfully
argued a jury trial and won $1,125,000.00 for fraud and breach
of an oral loan. In 2003, Mr. LaCroix successfully
represented a professional athlete and recovered $277,000.00
from a "financial advisor" who had fraudulently induced
participation in a real estate scheme. In the same year,
Mr. LaCroix recovered $182,000.00 on the day of trial from a
defendant running a "convertible debenture" fraud scheme.
Also in 2003, Mr. LaCroix worked with and assisted Melina
Cain, who is of counsel to Cain, & LaCroix, P.C., to
recover $340,000.00 from a bank that had improperly paid a
letter of credit.
In addition to his trial and litigation practice, Mr.
LaCroix has significant experience in handling a broad
range of landlord tenant issues, including drafting lease
agreements, lease negotiations and lease enforcement.
Mr. LaCroix's practice additionally focuses on assisting
clients to select and implement appropriate business
formations, whether corporations, professional associations
or other limited liability entities.
Mr. LaCroix is admitted to practice in all Texas Courts,
the United States District Court for the Southern
District of Texas, and the United States 5th Court of
Appeals. Mr. LaCroix earned his juris doctorate degree
from Southern Methodist University School of Law
in Dallas, Texas and his Bachelor of Business Administration
degree in Finance from the Texas A&M School of Business
in College Station, Texas. Prior to entering law school,
Mr. LaCroix worked as an accountant at Schlumberger Tech,
Inc. Currently, Mr. LaCroix is a member of the American
Bar Association, Houston Bar Association and Houston Young
Lawyers Association. Mr. LaCroix has lectured as a guest
speaker to Houston business organizations on matters of
business law.
